Steal This Look: A London Bathroom Clad in Dinesen Wood

One of our favorite houses of 2015: a London rehab by Daniel Lee, a designer (and digital developer) who runs Studio Ore. The clean-lined, calm interiors, designed and overseen by Lee himself, have a distinctly minimal Scandi aesthetic. We’re particularly taken by the master bathroom—not a surprise, as the floors, vanity, and bathtub, are completely clad in Dinesen floorboards. Here’s a closer look at the elements to replicate the look of the bathroom.

Above: The vanity is custom-built using Dinesen floorboards. The stain is Floor Soap White available from Dinesen (for a tour of the house, see The Uncluttered Life in London).

Above: A Duravit tub surrounded by Dinesen boards creates an architectural statement. Again, white soap is used as a finish; according to Lee, an additional application of soap can be used to reseal the wood. The solid shutters by UK-based Shutter Shop allow for privacy. The beach stones and the coral add a natural element to the bathroom.

Above: Lee designed the handmade raw (unlacquered) brass bathroom faucet. This brass faucet and several other fittings are available via Lee’s design Studio Ore. The backsplash is a piece of white marble.
